• Big McPhee Bridge on the Great Northern Highway (approximately 120km south of Kununurra) opened to Traffic The side track is now closed. Speed restrictions 60km/h signs are in place. Prepare to stop on approaches, as this is a single lane bridge. Road users are advised to adhere to traffic control signage and speed restrictions onsite. Over-mass load restrictions apply. • Vegetation/slashing maintenance in progress between Fitzroy Crossing and Derby.

Main Roads WA would like to advise all road users that the Brand Highway between Eneabba and Midlands Rd intersection (Pells Bridge) and the Indian Ocean Drive between Eneabba Coolimba Rd and Brand Hwy is CLOSED TO ALL TRAFFIC due to bush fire.
Traffic Management and Detours are in place which are as follows:
Southbound Traffic
via Midlands Road
Northbound Traffic
Motorists travelling along the Brand Highway detour via Eneabba Three Springs Road, Midlands Road
Motorists travelling along the Indian Ocean Drive via Coolimba Eneabba Road, Eneabba Three Springs Road, Midlands Road

Opening of Big McPhee Creek Bridge (#1306)
on Great Northern Highway
in the Shire of Wyndham-East Kimberley
The structural damage sustained to the Big McPhee Creek Bridge during the flooding season has been temporarily repaired.
Access to this bridge during the wet season is now approved for the movement of all category 1-10 Class 2 and 3 Restricted Access Vehicles, vehicle combinations operating under the Concessional Loading Schemes and specifically approved Single Trip Permits.
Restrictions affecting vehicle combinations operating under the Platform Trailer Relocation Period Permit still apply, and such vehicle combinations must not travel across this bridge.
All vehicle categories under the Class 1 Low Loader Overmass Period Permit must either apply for a Single Trip Extra Mass Permit or seek an alternate route.
Unless otherwise specified on the permit, a vehicle must not travel across the bridge at a speed in excess of 60 km/h.
The side track that was open during the repairs to this bridge is now closed to all traffic.
The Wet Season in the North of Western Australia is usually for the duration of December through to April.
