SLOW DOWN THROUGH ROADWORKS

Every year people are injured and/or killed at road work sites throughout Western Australia simply because drivers did not slow down.

The majority of these people are road workers, employed by Main Roads, private contractors or local government to undertake maintenance or construction on Western Australia’s road system.

To safe guard the lives of road workers as well as road users, remember: -
• Please slow down through road works.
• Be patient. The roads are being improved for the benefit and safety of all road users.
• Expect the unexpected. Speed limits and lanes may have changed from normal.
• Look out for traffic controllers and obey their signals. Their job is to keep traffic moving – not hold it up.
• Beware of loose stones that may damage vehicles.
• Follow the signs that have been displayed by qualified road workers with safety and efficiency in mind.
