Great Northern Highway (H006)

Hamilton Rd – Shell Road Train Assembly Area
Monday, 23 November 2009



Main Roads WA and BGC Contracting wish to advise road users that resealing works will be in progress on the Great Northern Highway between the Shell Road Train Assembly Area and Hamilton Road intersection on Monday, 23 November 2009.

Please be advised that short delays can be expected.

Traffic Management will be in place and Main Roads requests to adhere to the signage in place.

Road Works

Great Northern Highway
At SLK 1509 for the Wodgina Mine Access Road


Main Roads WA and Doorn-Djil Yoordaning Mining and Construction would like to advise road users that a side-track has been established on the Great Northern Highway at SLK 1509, about 57 km north of Hillside-Woodstock Road junction and 72km south of the junction with North-West Coastal Highway.

Road users are advised to be aware of the reduced speed limit from 110kmh to 60kmh through the side-track.

The side track will be in use during daylight hours only for about six weeks from 19th November 2009 whilst a new access to the Wodgina Mine is constructed.

Movement of oversize loads
from the Port Hedland Wharf to Yandi


In accordance with the Main Roads WA route
authorization, the route will be via Wilson Street onto Great Northern Highway through Wedgefield
to the Newman turnoff and proceed to Yandi.

The anticipated dates are between the 27th of Nov and the 6th of December 2009.

Traffic Management will be in place, when required and your cooperation is appreciated.

We will endeavour to keep any inconvenience to the public to a minimum throughout this time.

All moves will be fully traffic managed to ensure that safety is the number one priority.

Main Roads WA would like to advise road users that there will be re-sheeting works in progress on the Marble Bar Road at various locations between the Jigalong turn-off and Marble Bar town site commencing on Friday, 30 October 2009 with an expected completion around 10 December 2009.

Traffic management will be in place and road users are advised to exercise caution through the works.

DAMPIER HIGHWAY DUPLICATION STAGE 1B UPGRADE

Temporary Intersection Closure

Higham Street & Burges Road/Dampier Highway

Commencing 30 October 2009


Main Roads and Densford Civil Pty Ltd would like to advise that Higham Street and Burges Road would be closed to all traffic at the intersection of Dampier Highway due to road works from 30th October 2009 until approximately 14 December 2009.

An alternative access will be available via Gawthorne Drive and Bathgate Road.

Detour signage and Traffic Management will be in place.

TRAFFIC NOTICE

Dampier Highway Duplication Project
(Stage 1B)

July to December 2009


Main Roads wish to advise road users that Duplication works and construction of underpasses will be underway along Dampier Highway between Broadhurst Road and Balmoral Road West.

These underpasses include;
• Near Rosemary Road
• Near Baynton Drive

Works will have minor impact on traffic movements at this stage of construction. Regular updates will be issued.

Duplication works will consist of the following:

• Construction and sealing of 2.3 km of new road;
• Widening and resurfacing of existing road;
• Construction of 2 new underpasses adjoining to the existing underpasses.
• Extension of existing culverts.
• Installation of street lighting;
• Construction of drainage; and
• Installation of various signs and line marking.
