Closed - A road or section of road that is, or is likely to become unsafe to general traffic or a particular class of traffic or where the road would be damaged by general traffic or a particular class of traffic. A Closure is legally enforceable under the Main Roads Act.

Impassable - A section or specific location where it is considered that it is physically not possible to traverse, this status is used when it is possible that the road may become passable in the near future e.g. subsiding water at a floodway.
