Department of Conservation and Environment are continuing to conduct controlled burning operations near South Coast Highway between Peaceful Bay Road and Bow Bridge in the Shire of Denmark. Chester Pass Road in Albany Townsite

The left-hand lane for northbound traffic on Chester Pass Road between Kelly Street and Bevan Road will be closed for repairs until further notice.

Roadwork signs will be in place for the duration of works.

Main Roads wishes to advise that Albany Highway is still closed just north of Cranbrook, due to an earlier truck roll over.

A crane is required to right the truck. FESA and Police are on site.

Detours are in place. Heavy vehicles are being detoured via Kojonup to Katanning and then down the Great Southern to Cranbrook.
Light vehicles are being detoured via Peter Valley Road (reduced speed limits to 40 km/h as the road is very slippery in the area).

Worksite speed limit to be 40 kph. Short Delays expected. Working Lane Closed. Traffic Controllers using reversible flow controlling traffic.

Oversize vehicles will have to wait until the road is cleared so that they may pass, minimum lane width to be 3 metres. This will be carried out as soon as possible.

SCHOOL ZONE SIGNAGE UPGRADE FOR RAVENSTHORPE DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL

Mainroads WA (Great Southern) wishes to advise that electronic 40 km/h (visual display units VDU’s) will be installed prior to 30 June 2009 to replace the existing static 40 km/h signs and subsequently upgrade the school zone signage for Ravensthorpe District High School. The upgrade work will include the supply, installation and commissioning for six (6) signs – four (4) on Morgans St and two (2) on Veal St. The VDU’s will be only operated prior to and after school at times advised on the static signage i.e. 7:30 – 9:00 am and 2:30 – 4:00 pm. If any faults are evident with the VDU’s when in operation, please advise our Traffic Operations Centre directly (Phone 1800 800 009).
